If we spent a million dollars a day, every single day…
…we wouldn’t be able to spend the whole “stimulus” package, even if we started when Jesus was a baby.
It’s true: 365 days x 2009 years is 733,285. Multiplied by a million dollars is just over $733 billion. We’d have to keep spending a million a day until early 2156 to spend every penny in the “stimulus” bill.
Let’s see: I’ll turn 187 that year. Or, rather, the dust which was once my corpse will. My oldest child will turn 164, because by then longevity medicine will be up and working (at great profit to pharmaceutical companies).
So when we say our grandchildren will be paying for this “stimulus,” what we mean is our great-great-great grandchildren will be.
