Cats and dogs, living together…

February 24, 2009

Eh, not really. Jack “Noun-verb-campaign finance reform” Lohman of moneyedpoliticians.net and I agree on exactly one thing: election reform, including photo I.D.

Until now! In a late-breaking development (to me, anyway), Jack announces that he and I agree on corporate tax rates!

In a comment to my most recent FoxPolitics.net column, Jack writes:

YES we need ZERO corporate taxes, because these taxes…are all added to the price of the product and we consumers pay for them at the cash register. ZERO corporate taxes would make companies more competitive with foreign products and add jobs in the US.

Speak it, brother! The lions and lambs are getting it on!

But wait – this new spirit of peace and harmony can only go so far:

But where I disagree with Burri and conservatives is in what causes high taxes in the first place, and it’s our corrupt political system. As long as that remains in place, expect more of the same, regardless of the party in control.

Actually, we don’t disagree about that. I think the cause of high taxes is that we, the people, have discovered we can vote ourselves funds from the public till. And we elect representatives who will let us. You can call that “our corrupt political system” if you want, and I won’t argue. I will argue with Jack’s solution to that problem, though.
