Firsthand Accounts from the Chicago Tea Party

February 28, 2009

News, reports, videos and pictures – lots and lots of pictures – of yesterday’s Chicago Tea Party over at Backyard Conservative (click here for video, here for pictures, here for more pictures).

My favorites were two of handwritten protest signs. One read: “Bailout: Chains you can believe in.” That’s just good writing. The other was a little girl holding a sign that read: “Sorry Daddy, I don’t have $1 trillion to loan you!”

Good girl.

More at Marathon Pundit – John Ruberry reports:

It was an enthusiastic group of patriots, and by the time it ended about 400 people were in attendence, many of them chanting “Dump the Tea,” “Don’t Tread on Me,” and “Socialism Sucks!”

He’s got pictures with his report, and also more links to more pictures and reports. He also uncovers a fairly glaring error at Wikipedia.

I wanted to steal more to post here, but maybe you ought to just click over.

UPDATE – Gateway Pundit reports 1500 protesters at the St. Louis Tea Party. He’s got links to more reports nationwide. There were forty of ‘em.
