Just one more thing about that “most beautiful politicians” list

March 29, 2009

And, honestly, this doesn’t even have anything to do with the list itself. I just wanted to get a little more mileage out of the headline.

The Most Beautiful Politicians survey was done by a Spanish newspaper called 20 Minutos. I clicked over there, looking for the full list and, maybe, some explanation of how they ran the thing. Maybe an easy source of pictures.

Didn’t find any of that, but I did find…I don’t speak Spanish.

This made things more difficult. Hey, did you know that Babelfish will let you translate a whole webpage? Well, it will. For example, click here to see this post in Spanish. Or in French. Or in Russian.

Anyway, I copied the “20 Minutos” URL into the Babelfish page and…

Viola! A whole lot of very, very poorly translated sentences!

And, sure to become an internet classic:

Neither laser nor nothing, Shaving to conchazos! the mega Survivor success

I believe that the survivors are going away to divide the face to leave the sooner the island, but she does not stop to do grazes goose in plates, but to patent the exclusive system of shaving and something gallant that they have invented.

Women of the world, letters! The laser is for weak and those that think that the skin is necessary, but apparently the survivors think that it is not necessary, and today Wilma has tried to shave with a piece of shell and a little sand.

Thank heavens that has not fired, because these are able to put the leg in the bonfire so that the hairs are churrusquen to him what hen.

None of this really means anything. Just fun. Although…maybe somebody wants to clue the State Department in: Babelfish kind of sucks.

I figure that they are having the same translation trouble. Can you imagine what it becomes when you translate George Bush’s manner of speech. That must be why they are wanting to take legal action against the Bush administration members.

Translating Yoda-ish into Spanish and back begets perfect English.
