Sometime yesterday, TrogloPundit passed 10,000 visitors.
TrogloPundit’s 10,000th visitor clicked over sometime yesterday, my best single-day traffic count ever.
This was mostly on the strength of the Madison Tea Party, and links from Conservative Grapevine, Instapundit, Protein Wisdom, and No Runny Eggs, among others. Over 2,500 hits yesterday alone, and residuals from yesterday’s links are making today my second-best traffic count ever.
Am I pleased? You bet. A little bigheaded? Arrogant, even? Well, yes, but there’s no need to examine my personality. Let’s stay on topic.
Ever since I was just a wee troglodyte (back in February), I’ve studied, learned, lived at the font of knowledge that is Robert Stacy McCain – He Who Earned One Million Hits in his first year of blogging, and then told us all exactly how he did it. The better for us to emulate him.
And there was Rule 5. And it was good.
But here’s the thing: one million hits divided by 365 days is 2,740 hits per day. Or, in a leap year, 2,733 hits per day.
As you can see, my best day evah does not reach that level. And you have to average that number – more, actually, since I have the past two months-plus of sub-million-hit-pace blogging to make up for.
Every. Single. Day. For a year.
More: according to StatCounter, I was right around 11,800 hits as of midnight Thursday. That means I’ve averaged just over 203 hits per day since Day 1.
Not even enough to break 100,000 hits in a year, much less a million.
My points are threefold. First, there’s always room for humility. Second, humility breeds effort – you think Stacy McCain spent a day lording it around his office because he had one good day? Hah!
And third: link, damn you! All of you reading this! LINK!

Yes, congratulations. Got any more tea parties scheduled?
