Hey, that was some column Ross Douthat had in yesterday’s New York Times.
I’m a little perturbed that R.S. McCain has said nothing regarding Ross Douthat’s premier column as the Times’ newest token conservative columnist (qualifications: adept at bashing Republicans and conservatives). The column appeared yesterday, and thus far nothing.
One would think that, having given up Douthat-bashing for Lent, and Lent having been over for some weeks, and McCain having barely said a word about him since then, and this being Douthat’s first column in the New York Times…
Well, I suppose we should be patient. Today is David Brooks Fisking Day, and we can’t expect miracles, now can we?
In the meantime, enjoy Mr. Douthat’s picture, captured from the web version of his column. Take special note of the caption:
Fame isn’t all it’s cracked up to be, I guess.

And to think this could have been you!
Honestly, I didn’t think the column was very good. You would have been a better pick. And you are [actually] a conservative.
