If John Bolton writes a column predicting that I win a hundred million dollars, I’ll split it with him

May 25, 2009

He’s got prediction skills. That’s all I’m saying.

William Jacobson has the story:

On May 20, 2009, John Bolton wrote an op-ed for The Wall Street Journal titled “Get Ready for Another North Korean Nuke Test” in which he noted that the complacency of the Obama administration about North Korea’s nuclear ambitions (and Iran’s) was misplaced.

And, of course, now comes news that the NoKos have indeed tested a nuke.

So Bolton was right, and Jacobson wants to know whether all the lefties who called him names for his prediction are going to apologize:

Allison Kilkenny at Huffington Post applied the left-wing attack on Bolton specifically as to Bolton’s North Korea position, in a post titled, Update: John Bolton Still Crazy…

…It turns out that Ms. Kilkenny’s post proved just who still is crazy, and it’s not Bolton. Please read all of Ms. Kilkenny’s anti-Bolton diatribe. It is a lesson in why we cannot, cannot, cannot, trust the Left with our national security.

Who’s holding their breath? Anybody?

And one more thing: I can’t resist linking to little Matt Yglesias’ comments on the NoKo nuke:

I guess it strikes me that the DPRK’s nose for grabbing attention seems a bit off if they’re deciding to do this over what’s a holiday weekend in the United States.

Ah, irony, thy name is a liberal pundit assuming that the rest of the world schedules itself around our barbeque grills.

UPDATE – Spelling error corrected. I hate spelling errors. Oh, and linked at Legal Insurrection.

UPDATE II – I will now cease referring to North Koreans as NoKos. From now on, they’re Norks.

Let’s see – tweak America on Memorial Day – a holiday dedicated to remembering our war dead. Naahhh, just a coincidence.

Seems to me they got plenty of attention; how much more would they want?

Actually, I would be more surprized if the Norks didn’t. I think they want to ruin the weekend for folks at the Pentagon and Langley. Everyone even peripherally involved in the issue has to spend the weekend sitting at his/her desk incase “the boss” has a question s/he can answer.
