I’m not trying to ignore all the recent events in Iran…

June 22, 2009

…it’s just that if I start blogging about it, I’m going to feel compelled to keep blogging about it, and I’ll just end up frustrated and feeling like I did half a job.

Plus, there’s so much good blogging going on elsewhere. Gatordoug clued me in yesterday about Neda Agha Soltan, the Iranian woman killed (at least, we’re pretty sure it was her) the other day while a bystander at a protest. He’s got lots more good stuff about Iran, too. Click, read, scroll, repeat.

And Hot Air, Gateway Pundit, NTC News, and Michael Totten have plenty of info. So, see, any Iran-blogging I do would be completely superfluous, not to mention substandard.

For the record, we at The Trog stand solidly behind Iranians’ right to choose their own leaders through free and fair elections, although we’d hope they’d choose somebody a little less genocidal than Amin…Ahmidi…oh, whatever his name is.

We also stand strongly behind their right to peacefully assembly, speak their minds, and petition their own government. That their government is choosing to meet them with violence and suppression should tell us all exactly whose side we’re on.

P.S. Thanks for the pic, Jill.
