A word on presidential vacations: I have no problem with them. It’s a big, stressful job, and the president is never really off the clock. Let’s not mix ourselves in with the Lefties who criticized President Bush for spending time in Texas.

On the other hand, one need not vacation somewhere exclusive and expensive while the unemployment rate is nearing 10%. President and Mrs. Obama can’t exactly take the girls to a waterpark, but surely there are other, less hoity-toity destinations they could choose.
