Gatordoug’s got an idea, and I’m nominating him.

See, if we do this, that means one of us is going to have to read the bills, so we can test them to make sure they read the bills.

I nominate Gatordoug:

I would like to see every single member of the House that voted yes on a bill without reading it voted OUT of office next year! The same with every senator up for re-election next year!

Skepticism aside, though, this idea does have the most important thing going for it. A catchy name:

I am going to call it the Congressional Literacy Project! We are going to reach out and help our Congressmen learn that READING is truly FUNDAMENTAL to keeping their jobs!

Somebody check and see if there’s a patent on that “Reading is Fundamental” phrase. If not, Gatordoug, I think you’ve got yourself a new job.
