Somebody show the girl’s family this YouTube video, please.
Remember this picture?
Sure you do. It’s been all around the world and back, thanks to the magic of the internet. And we’ve all condemned President Obama for his bad manners; praised him for his good taste; and resisted the temptation to search for more pictures of the girl because she’s only 16 years old.
Thing is, video of that moment seems to prove that Obama was not – repeat, not - staring at the girl’s behind. This is a case of an unfortunately timed photo.
So. Somebody better tell the girl’s parents:
“If I were there, I would have boxed their ears,” said Lucia Rodrigues, 37. “They should be ashamed of themselves.”
Patriarch Eduardo Tavares, after finally getting around to seeing the famous photo of his daughter from behind, quickly changed his tune from proud papa to furious father.
…”Why are they looking at her like that? This is a girl who is articulate and intelligent and just wants to do the right thing,” the father said. “Instead, they are forcing her into a negative light.”
…And dad found some solace in the episode. “Thank God that [Italian playboy Prime Minister Silvio] Berlusconi was nowhere near her,” he said.
Here’s the video:
See? Obama might have noticed her, but you sure can’t accuse him of staring. Not after seeing that.
Sarkozy, on the other hand…

Yes, Obama is wrongly abused for doing a good & polite deed.
There is enough of great substance to attack, but this is not one of them.
But,… it is kinda fun.
So, he would be within his rights to say:
“I did not have visual sex with that woman”
“There is enough of great substance to attack, but this is not one of them.”
So why are you all wasting your time?
It’s a waste of time to defend Obama from an unfair attack? Well, okay, if you say so.
No no, actually that part is great (fair and balanced blogging for sure).
