Beyond rationing: controlling more than “health”

July 18, 2009

Wow, a really good post over at Pundit and Pundette.

Um…I didn’t mean for that to sound like I was surprised or anything. It wasn’t like “wow, a good post over there! Who’da thunk it?”

Pundette’s writing about what “universal” health care could come to mean. A clip:

Every area of life can be made to fit under the umbrella of a government-controlled medical system. If it isn’t about our physical health, it’s about our environment, which impacts our health, or about preventive medicine. And nothing is more open-ended than the concept of “mental health.”

Go read the whole thing.

Of course, if I get to be in charge, then I’m all for this, because I think I’ll make all the right decisions. The other side won’t. So I’m going to do whatever it takes to be in charge, and to keep them out.

The other side will, of course, do the same. And then they’ll kvetch about all the money being spent on politics.
