So what they’re trying to tell us is: there are people who suffer from a debilitating fear of antiques.

July 18, 2009

Ran across this story a while back: celebrities and their weirdness. In this case, their phobias. According to this, Billy Bob Thornton is afraid of antiques. Specifically French antiques. Mmmhmm.

Cameron Diaz opens doors with her elbows because she won’t touch a doorknob with her hands. Cristina Ricci is afraid of indoor plants. Kim Kardashian (whoever that is) is obsessed with q-tips.

Right. See, they ask big stars these questions through the big stars’ media people. The media people want to come up with something good, so they do.

I, for example, am scared to death of cube roots. Won’t go near them.

Anyway, kudos to Sarah Michelle Gellar’s media people, who came up with this one:

Sarah Michelle Gellar: Afraid of Graveyards

Oh, the irony. Sarah Michelle Gellar, the star of TV’s “Buffy the Vampire Slayer” has a fear of graveyards and admits that she’s had nightmares of being buried alive. Lucky for her, the set-dressing wizards on “Buffy” were able to create phony grave sites so that Gellar never had to shoot in a real cemetery.

Wait…you’re telling me those sets were fake? Get out!

Or…maybe I should take those kudos back? If there is such a thing as being forever linked to a character, I’d guess Gellar is it. She’s Buffy forever now, for better or worse. Even playing Daphne in those Scooby Doo movies didn’t help.

See? Didn’t help.
