Chris Wysocki sent this around a few days ago: “Forget the beer, Obama and Gates should do a ride-along with Sgt. Crowley.”
I’m not exactly obsessed with checking my email, so I missed it for a couple days. Still, he’s got a good point, and since the ‘beer summit’ was yesterday this is a good time to visit. Go do that.
But then come back here. Because I like the point he’s making but he also asks: “So why then is the main focus on what beer will they drink?”
Chris posted on Tuesday when ‘what beer will they drink’ was a nice little softball question for people to ask so they didn’t have to think about, y’know, important stuff like Michael Jackson’s kids. But today, after the event has taken place, the beer really is the most interesting aspect of the whole affair (kind of like our family reunions). President Obama’s beer of choice? Bud Light.
I know what you’re thinking: Bud Light? President of the United States, leader of the free world, and he’s being served Bud Light?
Anybody know how to send gifts to the White House? Because I’m thinking about getting this guy a case of Leinenkugel’s. And I’ll get on that, just as soon as I sober up.

A great idea…but I wonder…who will call shotgun and who will ride in back?
No fair stealing my idea of a gift six-pack…
Mike,
Todd offers a case and you offer a six-pack… cheapskate!
I don’t want to promote binge drinking? So I’m a cheapskate, I was still promoting high quality beer, that’s got to count for something right?
Oh, I guess so. It is better than my gift; no beer, but another case of Kool-Aid.
