I’d originally meant to post this for a reason that, after doing a little research, is entirely moot.
Via Boots and Sabers:
This reminded me of a song I used to sing with a couple of Army buddies – a good table-pounding kind of drinking song. Something about not being able to live without companionship and drink, if I remember right. The tune was the same, and the lyrics were similar, but this song in the video is a love song. Not the same one.
Unfortunately, it was too long ago and my Russian is way too rusty for me to remember enough. Otherwise maybe I could find it via Google. Maybe Bill Jacobson could help.
Regardless, heckuva reason to start the week off with a little Rule #5. Sophie Milman, ladies and gentlemen:

Lance,
That drinking song has been soldier popular for many years. It was originally begun for identification in the midst of ‘Don’t ask, Don’t tell.’
