Just another bloviating troglodyte

If Favre hadn’t come out of “retirement,” he’d be forever known as “the guy who had the second-most fumbles in the NFL.”

FavreWatch, D-minus-25.

At the end of last season, Brett Favre was the all-time NFL leader in passing attempts, completions, yards, touchdowns, interceptions, and seasons with 3,000 or more yards passing.

Brett_Favre_1997But he still hasn’t reached the final and, arguably, hardest-to-conquer peak of his NFL career.

He still doesn’t have the all-time fumbles record.

Favre currently sits in second place all-time on the fumbles list with 157 – four behind Warren Moon’s 161 – so he needs 5 more to break the record. He’s had at least 5 in every season except one, not counting his rookie year in Atlanta. Last season, he had 10.

Favre also needs to be sacked 16 times to move him into third place all-time in that category. Twenty-six sacks would move him into second place – he has matched or bettered that mark ten times in his career.

He’d need forty-eight sacks to overtake John Elway as the all-time leader. Not sure that’s gonna happen, but you never know.

We at The Trog will continue to monitor these statistics as the season moves on, because we at The Trog are both kind and generous, deserving of effusive praise and, if you think of it, cookies.
