From the “that’s not quite how we meant that to look” files, newspaper division:

August 29, 2009

Via email, the front page of yesterday’s Milwaukee Journal Sentinel:

8-27-09 mjs cover

Ha!

Related: doing a little internetin’ before writing this post, I came across Newseum.org where, among other things, they archive the front pages of several hundred newspapers around the world. Pretty cool.

Here’s the link to yesterday’s MJS cover, if you want a closer look.

UPDATE - apparently some of the links aren’t working for some of you? I just tried them, and they all seem to work at the moment. If the one leading directly to that edition of the MJS doesn’t work, here’s the link to the page of August 27 front pages. You’ll be able to find it there.

If you ever get a chance to go to the Newseum, GO! My wife and I went about ten years ago and enjoyed it immensely. Sure it was a little “Look how great and noble journalists are,” but the interactive stuff was great. I tried my hand as a newscaster, then watched my effort played back. I laughed so hard I was crying, and people all over the Newseum were wondering what the he’ll was going on.

    Cowards took it down…

The page you are looking for might have been removed, had its name changed, or is temporarily unavailable.

It’s still on the site, just not at that link. I had to search around, but I was able to get it.
