A little idiocy from the Right

I understand via Think Progress and Memeorandum that the Newsmax column – the one suggesting that a military coup is possible, likely, even desirable in the U.S. sometime soon – has been taken down.

Well, good. This may be speculation on my part, but I think it’s educated speculation: there’s no better way to piss off a military officer than to suggest that military officers might take action against their own Commander in Chief, no matter who that CINC might be.

UPDATE - Ed Morrissey notes the Gore Vidal interview, in which Vidal also suggests a military dictatorship is right around the corner. I skimmed the Vidal thing, myself. He says all kinds of vile stuff.
