You find federalism in the strangest places these days.
Right behind the political expediency. Which, now that I think about it, isn’t all that strange after all.
Instapundit links to Glenn Greenwald, agreeing with the Obama administration’s new policy on dope:
I AGREE WITH GLENN GREENWALD — this new, federalism-respecting policy is a good one: “The Obama administration will not seek to arrest medical marijuana users and suppliers as long as they conform to state laws, under new policy guidelines to be sent to federal prosecutors Monday.”
Now if they’d just show a similar respect for federalism on other subjects.
That applies to the administration and Greenwald both.
Note: I’m pretty ambivalent about medical marijuana – if it’s so effective, how come nobody’s making a pill out of it? And once somebody does make a pill out of it, will all the dopers leave off the outrage? – so I might not have blogged about this. But I wanted to get a little InstaRule #2 in since Insty linked me this morning.
Hey, he links me, I link him. All even-steven, right? Sure it is.
