To the Green Bay Packers defense
This is a letter to the editor I sent to the Green Bay Press Gazette this week. Since I’m still in Florida, I have no idea whether or not they printed it. No worries, though: I follow Nick Barnett on Twitter, so I’m sure he’ll see this.
To the Green Bay Packers defense;
So this Sunday, Brett Favre comes to town. I understand all the hard feelings and anger surrounding his return, but I’m asking you, the defense, to put all that aside and help him do one thing that has eluded him thus far in his career.
Favre owns several NFL records, but there’s one record he doesn’t have that he could conceivably get this Sunday.
In his career, Favre has fumbled the ball 158 times. The NFL record is 161. He only needs three to tie, four to become the all-time leader.
I beg you, in the name of sportsmanship, to put your feelings aside this Sunday afternoon and help him reach that goal.
Brett Favre is a legendary quarterback who I, a lifelong Packer fan, will always love and admire. It tears me up to want the best for him, but the worst for the team he plays for. This one day, I’m putting all that aside, and cheering for him to break one more record. I ask for your help, Green Bay defense, in helping him do just that.
Thank you, and good luck on Sunday.
Go Packers.

You want Favre to break Warren Moon’s record? You’re a racist!
