Forget the Weblog Awards. Trog for Congress!

November 17, 2009

Got the idea from Josh Schroeder:

Dear Friends,

I am pleased to announce my candidacy for Missouri’s 14th Congressional District. Like many of you, I didn’t even know that Missouri had 14 congressional districts. But we now know based on information from the White House’s website tracking jobs created or saved, Recovery.gov, that jobs have been created or saved in our 14th Congressional District.

When I heard this news, I noticed that these people did not have elected representation in the United States House of Representatives. Missouri only has nine congressmen! If elected, I will fight to represent all the people of Missouri’s 14th Congressional District, especially the ones whose jobs were created or saved.

So this gets me thinking: I could be just as good a Congressman – in a nonexistent district – as Josh could. And I would be, too, if only there were a few extra Congressional Districts in Wisconsin!

And…bam! Wouldja lookit that! The federal government spent $1,240,000 in stimulus money in Wisconsin’s 55th Congressional District!

Ladies, gentlemen, friends, fellow Cheeseheads, it is with ready hands and a humble heart that I step onto this road. It will not be an easy road. It will not be a short road. Well, yeah, okay, it will be a short road. Easy, too. Still. I readily accept the call to represent Wisconsin’s 55th Congressional District in the U.S. House of Representatives.

To become the very first Congressman of Wisconsin’s 55th, as a matter of fact. The ol’ double nickel. History will be made!

Now, we’re still going to need representatives for the 4th, 10th, 9th, 39th, and 00th. Takers?

Note: that thing about forgetting the Weblog Awards? Um…yeah. Just kidding. Click here to support your local TrogloPundit. Make sure to click the little green box under the web address.

Despite my true feelings on the matter, I gave you a vote [Mrs. Belvedere insisted; she thinks you're handsome or something (got to get her eyes and brain functioning checked)].

OK, I totally filched your idea. NJ has 3 phantom districts, I gotta be able to win an election in one of them!
