Did the Heisman committee bow to racial pressure?

December 12, 2009

Congratulations to Alabama running back Mark Ingram, this year’s recipient of college football’s highest award, the Heisman Trophy. And congratulations to the University of Alabama, for finally winning their first-ever Heisman.

Rumors that Ingram’s victory – the narrowest ever in Heisman history – was fueled in part by fear of the race card continue to swirl.

This was one of the worst robberies iin history. Stanford kid beat Ingram hands down: yards, tds, carries, yards per carry, carries for 20 yards or more. Clearly this was a racial vote. Our country has turned into a dying republic and this is just one more example of reascism against white athletes in this case. Engram can’t hold the Stanfords kids jock!! Period…end of story.

Ron, I’m hoping that you’re trying to extend the joke and I’m just not seeing it. The racism riff here is a joke, and if you’ll click through to the second link you’ll see why.

There’s no racism against white athletes here: Ingram’s win means three of the last 10 Heisman winners are black. Seven of the last ten were white quarterbacks. If anything, this proves rampant discrimination against linemen.

My point exactly. I agree with your comment against lineman but clearly something else was at play here because using stats alone this was a travesty!!!
