If Demi Moore’s lawyers send me a threatening letter…man will my traffic <em>skyrocket!</em>

Oh, come on, Demi. Laugh it off.

The story: a while back, Demi appeared on the cover of W Magazine, which I gather is George W. Bush’s answer to Oprah’s “O.”

Or maybe not. Regardless, a slight internet brouhaha ensued when it was found that the U.S. version of the cover was photoshopped – allegedly, I suppose – to remove some of her hip.

Swiped that (gleefully) from Boingboing. Demi’s lawyers now have sent a letter to Boingboing.net, demanding a retraction and insisting that no such photoshopping occurred.

Look at the pictures again. They’re different. Something happened to one of them to make them different, and I’m betting – because the line of her hip doesn’t match up with the line of her leg – that “something” happened to the one on the left.

Trust me. I’ve been looking at these for a while.

I sense a certain amount of irony, one way or another, because of this story from earlier this month:

On Wednesday, frequent Twitter-er Moore shared an outtake from a Tuesday photo shoot on a Santa Monica beach for Harper’s Bazaar. “Had the priviledge [sic] of working with a giraffe yesterday he was beautiful gentle and so amazing!” the 47 year-old actress wrote.

Immediately, Twitter followers chimed in with critiques: “sorrydemi that your self esteem is so low you can’t admit to a little Photoshopping,” one follower sniped, adding “And Ghost sucked.” (Retweeting the dig, Moore wrote “Thank you”)

A few hours later, another follower wrote, “sorry but you look old. specially your neck & cheecks at the second shot..”

Anyway. Moore later responded:

This time, Moore posted a more pointed retort: “I’m 47 how am I supposed to look?”

Well, for one thing, Demi, you’re supposed to have hips.
