Sitting!

LONDON — Here’s a new warning from health experts: Sitting is deadly.

Deadly!

…Research is preliminary, but several studies suggest people who spend most of their days sitting are more likely to be fat, have a heart attack or even die.

Die! If you spend too much time sitting, you could die!

…”After four hours of sitting, the body starts to send harmful signals,” Ekblom-Bak said. She explained that genes regulating the amount of glucose and fat in the body start to shut down.

Your…genes start to shut down?

Experts said more research is needed…

Yes! More research! They need more money, to do more research! Congress, write them a check!

…to figure out just how much sitting is dangerous…

…and what might be possible to offset those effects.

In other news, Sitting Death Deniers issued the following statement:

…the six and a half hours sleep that most women get per night is not enough. We need the eight hours that doctors recommend for maximum health benefit. It’s not just “beauty sleep” we’re talking about here – it’s sanity sleep!

Wh…what? Eight hours? But…your genes will shut down!
