What’s the weirdest thing…
GREEN BAY, Wis. — A 32-year-old Green Bay man has been convicted of killing his ex-girlfriend’s puppy by putting it in a hot oven.
The Green Bay Press-Gazette reported that the jury spent about an hour deliberating Thursday before reaching a verdict in the November 2008 case against Terry Kleiman.
Kleiman is accused of breaking into the woman’s apartment.
When the woman returned later, she found her apartment filled with smoke and the dog’s body in the oven. It was a 5-month-old Pekinese/poodle puppy named Hulk.
He was convicted of felony charges of burglary and mistreatment of animals and could face up to 16 years in prison.
The weirdest thing about this story is:
- That it happened in the first place
- The puppy’s name was “Hulk”
- That I instantly thought of Instapundit
Leave your choice in the comments. Not that it matters, though. It’ll never compete with: “A Baraboo man’s request for movie-watching silence is what caused his transsexual sister-in-law to become enraged and stab him with a sword, the man said in court Friday.”

The weirdest thing is the presence of the word ‘hot’ in the first sentence. Imagine: “A 32-year-old Green Bay man has been convicted of killing his ex-girlfriend’s puppy by putting it in a cold oven.” The concept of ‘hot’ is implicit in the concept of ‘oven.’ Unless he was slamming the puppy’s head in the oven door, but that wouldn’t explain all the smoke.
