Little Barry Obama statue going back to school

Remember that statue of the young Barack Obama? Well:

JAKARTA, Indonesia – Authorities removed a statue of Barack Obama from a park in the Indonesian capital due to a public backlash and moved it Monday to a nearby elementary school that the U.S. president attended as a child.

Too bad that’s in Indonesia. If it was the U.S., we could get a whole week’s worth of blogging out of this. They’re indoctrinating the children!

Obama lived in Jakarta from 1967 to 1971 and, the story says, “is regarded fondly by most Indonesians.” I’d like to see the poll numbers on that, please. He’s supposed to visit Jakarta in March, and they figure on having the statue ready for him to see when he gets there. Let’s all make sure he needs the ego boost by then!
