Australian relay team sets stiletto racing record

September 29, 2010

Boy does this look painful:

The story:

SYDNEY, Australia–Four Australian women from Canberra: Brittney McGlone, Laura Juliff, Casey Hodges and Jessica Penny (known as the Pinkettes) completed a 263-foot (80-meter) course near Sydney’s Opera House in about one minute and four seconds while wearing 3-inch (7.5 centimeter) stilettos – setting the new world record for the Fastest relay race in stiletto heels.

That’s Brittney McGlone in the picture. The winning team received a certificate from the Guiness Book of World Records along with their cash prize. They say they’re going to use the money for a trip to Thailand, but whatcha wanna bet some of it goes for orthopedic inserts?

Note: when I said it “looks painful,” I meant to the participants. To the spectators, it’s somewhere around the opposite of painful.

See? Not painful.
