That’s Pundette, on an under-reported aspect of Smitty’s deployment to Afghanistan.

It would be interesting to see what The Other McCain’s inner workings have been these last few weeks, or however long its been since Smitty got the news. On the one hand, you’d figure Stacy “Namesake” McCain started the blog on his own, and brought it to prominence on his own, and only then brought Smitty in to help with the heavy lifting.

On the other hand, though: who knows how much Stacy’s come to depend on Smitty? Many an entrepreneur has reached distant plateaus of success, only to find himself unable to dial out when his assistant is sick.

We could have seen this coming, I suppose, when Wombat-Socho joined the ToM crew.
