This would have stopped that lunatic gunman for sure!

January 11, 2011

If only this had been the law already!

“Rep. Peter King, a Republican from New York, is planning to introduce legislation that would make it illegal to bring a gun within 1,000 feet of a government official, according to a person familiar with the congressman’s intentions.”

And: bam!* Political vitriol nullified! Who knew it would be so easy?

Via Memeorandum.

Also, Althouse says:

Because the murder-free-zone law that protects the rest of us is just not working well enough. The high officials need a double layer of legal protection.

And one more thing: is the word “vitriol” losing all meaning for anybody else? Or just me?

* Note: that’s “bam,” not “bang.” Don’t even go there.

Vitriol used to be a perfectly good word when used in moderation. It has been sadly abused and overused of late.

There are a lot of words that don’t mean diddly anymore. Use to be a pretty useful language….now? Pfft!
