Well I think that’s a great idea.
Illinois is going to raise taxes.
Gov. Pat Quinn and his fellow top Democrats are pushing a huge income tax hike largely because the state’s budget hole is enormous.
…In case you missed it, the game plan is to raise the personal income-tax rate by 75 percent.
Whooohoo!
It would jump from 3 percent to 5.25 percent for four years, then drop to either 3.75 percent or 4 percent…
Suuuuure it would.
…depending on which version of the plan is in vogue. The business tax rate also would go up, and smokers would kick in an extra buck a pack.
And since the legislature is talking about big spending increases, too, this still won’t fix their budget problems!
Hey, businesses! We got a good conservative government up here now, looking to cut your costs! You come on up, we’ll get the lights for you once Illinois is empty!
UPDATE – No, don’t recall Governor Quinn, he’s doing such a wonderful job…for Wisconsin!
