I’ve been willing to give Illinois Gov. Pat Quinn the benefit of the doubt, but this is getting ridiculous.
John “Marathon Pundit” Ruberry has been dogging the Governor’s dishonest ways for several months, now:
The Green Bay Packers, who went on to win Super Bowl XVL last month, defeated the Chicago Bears in the NFC championship game in January. Democrat Quinn and Republican Walker made a bet on the outcome; loser Quinn was supposed to volunteer at a Green Bay food pantry last month, but backed out because of the union battle north of the border.
The game was six weeks ago. Pittsburgh’s mayor has already paid his bet off. What’s wrong with Quinn? The “union battle?” Please. What better way to showcase the coming plight of Wisconsin’s middle class, once this draconian measure takes effect? *
John has his theory, but I think it’s much simpler than that. I think Quinn just hates poor people.
* I feel the need to specify that this is sarcasm. Dunno why. I’m sure you got it.
UPDATE – Linked by Moe Lane, who claims: “I had and have no stake in any confrontation between the Bears and the Packers.” Dude, that’s like saying you have no stake in any confrontation between good and evil.
But Moe gets a pass, because he cross-posts at RedState. Sweet.

He’d better hurry and pay up before he gets busted and thrown in jail as is the custom of Illinois Governors. (I think it’s in the Illinois Constitution or something.)
LOL, Steve. Actually, since GOPer William Stratton left office in 1961, only half of Illinois’ elected governors have been convicted of crimes.
Pretty good, except when you compare that record to those of other states’ chief executives.
