Cue some random Democrat to explain that poor people tend to be under-educated and thus can’t be trusted to know what they’re doing

The story: poor people are turning on President Obama.

President Barack Obama’s approval among the poorest Americans dropped to an all-time low of 48 percent last week, according to the Gallup poll, leaving the president with less-than-majority approval among all income brackets reported in Gallup’s presidential approval surveys.

Look through all the results here. Respondents who earn less than $2000 a month gave the President a 54% approval rating three weeks ago. Last week, it was 52%, and now it’s 48%.

I guess he isn’t coming through on that “he’s gonna pay my bills” thing?

As regular Trog readers know, polls suck. This result may well reverse itself by next week. Still, this is another of those fun “What’s the matter with Kansas” moments. Those on the lower end of the economic scale – the ones most likely to “benefit,” at least short-term, from liberal policies – not supportive of the guy who wants to enact those policies.

Of course, looking at it that way, you wonder why it ever got as low as 54%.
