Plus, Venezuela has a lot of oil. So that’s another good reason to invade.
Reaganite Republican is sounding the alarm:
Iran Moving Ahead on Venezuelan Missile Bases that Bring Miami Well Within Range
Engineers from a construction company operated by Tehran’s Republican Guard already surveyed sites back in February, and are reportedly putting into action plans for both defensive and offensive installations of Iranian missiles on the Paraguana Peninsula in the far north-west of Venezuela…
Indeed, that’s disturbing. Not quite as disturbing as the Soviets putting missiles in Cuba – not even close – but disturbing.
It’s also an opportunity for Obama. An Obatunity. With plenty of time to swing public opinion in advance of the 2012 elections.
How? Invade Venezuela. Seize the missiles and/or missile sites; dump Chavez; pacify, democratize.
Because Venezuela is so much closer to home than Iraq, and because the climate there is far less difficult than Iraq’s, the entire effort will cost less. Then average Libya into the equation, even though that’s really just air-to-ground missiles and some reconnaissance, and:
Barack Obama: winning wars for half the price!
Note: I know, Libya is currently a “kinetic military action” right now. But by the time next August rolls around and the whole thing’s over, it’ll have been a war.
