Am I misinterpreting it? Well, maybe. Other possible meanings:

• Americans think marriage is gay, but it should be legal anyway;

• Miss Legal and Mr. Gay intend to honeymoon in Hawaii – he plans to take her name instead of the traditional vice versa.

• “Hey, it was the first time. We were just experimenting.”

One of those has to be right. Doesn’t it?
