Packers receive their Superbowl rings

June 21, 2011

Dang:

The final design was a ring made of platinum and 18-karat gold that weighs 116 grams and includes diamonds totaling 3.35 carats.

Each ring has a crest of 92 diamonds to represent the 92 years of the franchise’s existence; 13 more diamonds embedded in the team’s “G” logo on the front of the ring to represent each of the team’s NFL titles; and four more diamonds to signify the Packers’ four Super Bowls.

A hundred and sixteen grams is just over 4 ounces. It looks heavier, doesn’t it?

Hat tip to HammerNH, who may or may not blog, but tipped me off in a comment over at RWN.
