Obama to House Democrats: Go the F— to sleep!

June 28, 2011

Maybe if he gives them a quarter they’ll go away.

House Democrats feel like jilted lovers.

They’re looking down Pennsylvania Avenue for some sign of affection from President Obama in the White House. But all they feel they’re getting in return is the back of his hand.

“How is it that the House Democrats played such an important role [in the majority], and all of a sudden [the White House says], ‘Forget it, we’ll work with the Senate and the Republican leadership?’ ” asked Rep. Henry Cuellar (D-Texas), vice chairman of the Democrats’ Steering and Policy Committee.

Oh fer cry-eye. The “negotiations,” such as they are, are hard enough. We’re supposed to add another group to them? A group that has its own motivations and agenda, but no actual power?

Earlier today, I read a blog comment suggesting that we invest in diaper-company stock, because Democrats have been acting like such babies lately. Can’t remember where I saw that, dangit, otherwise I’d be linking it here.

Note: if you didn’t get the title, click here. I understand why the mock-children’s book “Go the F— to sleep!” might be a tad uncomfortable for many adults and, particularly, parents, but: I’ll betcha the Samuel L. Jackson live reading is hilarious.

UPDATE – huh, I didn’t expect that to be online anywhere. It was honestly a little disappointing. Kind of flat.

Big, big language disclaimer on that link, by the way.
