When I mentioned “Perryblogging” earlier, did you think I meant Rick Perry?
Because I had another Perry in mind:
Katy Perry this week ties one of Michael Jackson’s most cherished records. “Last Friday Night (T.G.I.F.)” becomes the fifth #1 single on the Hot 100 from Perry’s Teenage Dream album. The only other album in pop history to spawn five #1 singles was Jackson’s 1987 smash Bad.
That’s “Jackson’s 1987 smash, ‘Bad.’” It’s not that the smash was bad. Just the writer’s punctuation.
I love this line:
This of course makes Perry the first female artist to achieve the feat..
Well, naturally, since only two people have ever done it, we should pause a moment to reflect on what a wonderful achievement this is for an otherwise helpless girl. And anyway, you all remember what a big deal it was when the first African-American broke the five-#1 barrier, don’t you?
No?
