Would Kate Winslet have been as courageous if she’d had cosmetic surgery? I think not.
In case you missed it, “Titanic” actress Kate Winslet is taking a stand against plastic surgery:
Embracing her curves is nothing new to Kate Winslet, but now the actress is taking an active stand against the pressure in Hollywood for women to undergo cosmetic surgery.
The 35-year-old actress told London’s The Telegraph that she and fellow British Oscar-winners Emma Thompson and Rachel Weisz have formed what she describes as the “British Anti-Cosmetic Surgery League.”
We at The Trog have noted Rachel Weisz’ opinion on the matter before. So how’s all that “we’re 100% natural” doing for ol’ Kate?
(Sir Richard Branson’s) multi-million-pound Great House on Necker, the Virgin tycoon’s £60million private island, caught fire after it was struck by lightning in the early hours of Monday when the region was battered by Hurricane Irene.
And the tycoon revealed that as his family and guests fled for their lives the Oscar-winning actress Kate Winslet carried his 90-year-old mother Eve to safety.
…According to Sir Richard, courageous Miss Winslet acted like a true Hollywood heroine as she swept his 90-year-old mother Eve into her arms and helped carry her to safety as the mansion crumbled around them.
Leave it to the British: they go out of their way to describe how Branson “rushed towards the flames naked” – because we all want that image stuck in our heads (you’re welcome) – but no mention at all of what Winslet was wearing.
Or Branson’s mother, for that matter. So…um…never mind.
The point is: Winslet’s natural curves saved that 90-year-old woman’s life.

Woman, 90, beats back burglars with cane
BERLIN (Reuters) – A feisty 90-year-old German woman chased away three would-be burglars from her rural farmhouse with her cane, police said on Monday.
The retired farmer was moving around her house with the help of a walking frame and spotted the intruders — two men and one woman.
She grabbed her cane and started beating the burglars with it. The trio fled the house in a town outside Muenster.
It is believed that this woman, like Winslet, has undertaken no plastic or other cosmetic surgery, either. So there you have it: natural bodies = rampaging action heroes. It’s a 1:1 correlation. You can’t argue with that.
