AP reporter hates on Danica Patrick, who was oddly unconcerned about racing on the East Coast this weekend
IndyCar: Patrick worried about Japan
As Danica Patrick winds down her Izod IndyCar Series career, it sounds like she’d be happy to skip next weekend’s Indy Japan300 in Motegi.
At Richmond International Raceway, where she competed Friday night in the NASCAR Nationwide Series race, Patrick expressed concern about the trip to Japan. Specifically, she mentioned food, earthquakes and radiation.
She’s not worried about being able to find food – she’s worried about irradiated food. If that’s the right word.
Meanwhile, Danica – who by the way races cars for a living, which is not generally considered a safe occupation – placed 6th in this weekend’s Baltimore Grand Prix. Baltimore, of course, is located on the United States’ east coast, which has experienced both an earthquake and a hurricane in recent weeks.
So that’s all pretty weird.
Now on to the hatin’. Here’s the very next paragraph – written, by the way, by Autoweek’s Al Pearce:
“I think there’s a general concern for the safety of being over there,” she said at her weekly “press availability” that other Nationwide Series drivers don’t get.
Why, no, that little sliver of bitter jealousywasn’t at all out of place, you snide little crapweasel.
Oh, and while we’re on the subject:
That’s Danica, doing a press availability. I guess Pearce didn’t get invited to that one.
There are these little boys out there (won’t call them men because they are not intellectually adult) who bitch about Danica simply because she is a woman.
She is rich, is having the time of her life driving racing cars, has a great sponsor that will follow her anywhere which is why she is going to NASCAR and this is the biggest thing… she is a really good race car driver.
They ignore that there are only about 100 or so really good race car drivers in the world and Danica is the best female race car driver in that group. There have been other good looking women around and I can recall Milka Duno, big breasts, perky, etc. who had a huge oil company footing the bill for her… where is she now…. out, because she could not drive well enough to race with the guys.
Danica looks good and she used her sexuality to market herself… so what? the guys use their “machismo” to market themselves… so she did that and built a huge fan base which attracted GoDaddy with big bucks to sponsor her and finally, SHE CAN DRIVE AS WELL OR BETTER THAN 90% of the other drivers. I see all this hype about Simona… well, first of all Simona is built like a man and she is still not as good as Danica. She might be slightly better on road courses but she sucks on the ovals. Danica is getting better on the road courses… is terrible at qualifying on them, but always seems to go from 23 – 26 at the start to 15th or better every time. And in Baltimore, finished 6th and at Motegi this weekend, she came from 23rd to finish 11th.
Kanann had his machismo bitch at Motegi and she beat him. Graham Rahal was behind her for the last 20 laps or so and she stayed ahead of him… actually increased her lead over him and Graham thinks of himself as a far better driver than her, doesn’t he?
I am glad she is going to NASCAR. She really likes that kind of racing, she is good at it and I think she will do really well in Nationwide next year. And screw the jerk offs and little boys in Indycar and those who post infantile remarks about her.
