I can’t decide what to think about this whole “Obama White House was hostile to women” story.

September 20, 2011
  • Part of me wants to shake my head at the irony of it all;
  • Part of me wants to laugh and smugly point at the liberals who say they’re so much better than the rest of us;
  • Part of me wants to be all indignant about the media and identity-group hypocrisy;
  • And part of me wants to tell these women to quit whining and (metaphorically speaking) man up. You want influence? You have to take influence. Don’t try to tell me that women don’t know how to scheme.

Here’s the story. Via Memeorandum.

UPDATE – Malkin re-posts this old YouTube:

That’s magazine editor Shoma Chaudhury with the long black hair. A partial transcript:

Chaudhury: The criticism of the Obama administration seems to be particularly “male,” you know? When you say ‘why aren’t you fighting back, why aren’t you policing?’ I think we’ve been talking about having women in leadership positions, and Obama’s attitude to leadership is really a very womanly one

So even having a woman(ly) at the top doesn’t prevent institutional sexism.
