They told me if I voted for McCain, we’d see an administration trying to suspend national elections…
Speaking to a Cary rotary club today, N.C. Gov. Bev Perdue suggested suspending Congressional elections for two years so that Congress can focus on economic recovery and not the next election.
“I think we ought to suspend, perhaps, elections for Congress for two years and just tell them we won’t hold it against them, whatever decisions they make, to just let them help this country recover. I really hope that someone can agree with me on that,” Perdue said. “You want people who don’t worry about the next election.”
Funny, I thought holding elections was the way we were going to “help this country recover.”
Perdue is a Democrat, by the way. The story does say so a little later on.

Only a few short years ago dems were pushing the meme ‘Vote or Die’, nowadays it’s just ‘Die’.
No, actually you are lying. No one ever told you to expect that if you voted for McCain.
And, I don’t know if you noticed, but the Republicans control the House. Suspending elections would lock in GOP rule for an extra two years.
Maybe you think they are delusional, but many Dems think they have a fighting chance of taking back the House…..so I think it pretty obvious she was joking or exaggerating her point.
Chill, Joe. Try some decaf.
so I think it pretty obvious she was joking or exaggerating her point.
Funny, she didn’t say anything remotely like that.
