Just in time for National Coffee Day, a study: coffee prevents depression in women
I’m wondering whether a similar study was done on men, and if so, where are the results?
Drinking several cups of coffee a day may help to prevent depression in women, new research suggests.
It found that four or more cups of caffeinated coffee slashed the risk of clinical depression by 20% when compared with drinking one or fewer cups per week.
Wow, 20%. Of course, four cups of coffee is quite a few. And when, exactly, did they measure the individual’s “clinical depression?” Right after the fourth cup of coffee? Or three hours later?
It might matter.
Oh, and regarding that similar study on men, I can save you the trouble: coffee must help men’s outlooks. Look at me. A pot a day I drink, and I’m bucket full of sunshine.
UPDATE - dammit! I should’ve held out for half!
