Okay, we’ll just make them walk, then.
Hey, maybe we could lash them all together behind some horses or something. No, we’re not going to drag them. Be serious. But we could feed the horses Beef-a-rino first.
The Transport Workers Union will go to court Monday to try to stop the city from forcing bus drivers to transport Wall Street protesters arrested by the NYPD, the Daily News has learned.
The union, whose leaders voted last week to support the protesters, said police brass commandeered three MTA buses to transport many of the 700 demonstrators arrested on the Brooklyn Bridge on Saturday.
Hm. The libertarian in me is about to pull an eyebrow muscle. Although:
“The MTA has a long history of cooperating with the NYPD and other law enforcement agencies when they require vehicles to perform their duties,” said Jeremy Soffin, MTA spokesman.
So they’ve done that before, then. The story doesn’t say whether the buses are privately or publicly owned. If the latter, then: blah. If the former, but the owners routinely help the police out, then: blah.
Besides, if the cops had to make all their arrestees just sit on the hard ground with their hands zip-tied behind their backs for hours on end while they ferried them downtown a few at a time, then these weenies would be complaining about brutality and cruel and unusual punishment.
So, in conclusion: blah.
While I’m on the subject, many thanks to the Village Voice for linking The Trog’s previous post about the Wall Street “protesters.” Their headline:
Rightbloggers Denounce Occupy Wall Street, Which Is Totally Not Like the Tea Party Because Hippies
“…because hippies.” Exactly. See, some Lefties do get it!
