October 16, 2011: the day Missouri learns to hate Wisconsin. I hope.
The Milwaukee Brewers are tied 1-1 with the St. Louis Cardinals in the NLCS right now. They play again tonight, tomorrow, and Friday in St. Louis.
If the Brewers can win two out of three of those games – and, yes, I know that doesn’t seem likely, what with the Brewers’ road record this year and the Cardinals’ momentum after Monday’s blowout in Milwaukee – still, if the Brewers can take two out of three, then they could also win the NLCS outright in Game 6, on Sunday, in Milwaukee.
The first pitch in that game will be thrown very shortly after the Green Bay Packers finish their game against the St. Louis Rams in Green Bay.
The only question then will be: will the invasion come from the south, through Illinois? Or from the southwest, through Iowa? Or will the Missourians go all the way into Minnesota before crossing the river?
I’m betting Illinois. They can be bought.
Why, oh why, couldn’t we have brought the Missouri Tigers into the Big 10 when we had the chance?

Watch the trees. They’ve got whole training camps dedicated to crack commando squirrels. I’m pretty sure they’re going to be airlifted to the upper peninsula of Michigan and work southward.
