I think Senator Reid is exactly right.

“Reid: Republican senators only care about their own jobs.”

Senate Majority Leader Harry Reid (D-Nev.) took a swing at Senate Republicans Thursday morning, saying their rejection of President Obama’s jobs package on Tuesday proves they only care about preserving their own jobs.

Well, duh. Republican Senators do want to get re-elected. And how do you do that? By showing the voters that you have some idea how to tackle the nation’s problems. And what’s the best way to tackle the nation’s current biggest problem? By standing in the way of whatever economic “policies” President Obama and Senate Democrats support.

If Republican Senators didn’t care about their own jobs, Senator Reid, then they’d be agreeing with you. Because agreeing with you is the surest way to lose in 2012.
