Can I just ask…is setting new records at Minesweeper considered “unproductive?”
Great Britain is considering something…radical:
Give firms freedom to sack unproductive workers, leaked Downing Street report advises
What? You mean you either have to be worth a paycheck or you might not get a paycheck?
Companies should be given the right to dismiss unproductive workers without explanation, a leaked Downing Street report advises.
Britain’s “terrible” employment laws are undermining economic growth and should be overhauled, according to the confidential report obtained by The Daily Telegraph
It says that British workers should be banned from claiming unfair dismissal so that firms and public sector bodies can find more capable replacements.
So you either have to do a good job, or you can be fired? And the government won’t listen to you when you go crying to them about it?
What is this world coming to?
Just for clarity, I’m guessing that the term “productive” does not include:
- Successfully integrating three separate teams in order to facilitate a major raid on a rival clan’s home base;
- Using online video technology to compare and contrast the comedic subtleties of “The Hangover” and “The Hangover 2;”
- The gastrointestinal byproduct of the lunch buffet at that Thai restaurant;
- Finally getting a phone number from the hottie in accounting;
Or maybe it does. We are talking about the British, after all.
