Again?

October 28, 2011

Didn’t they do this already?

Occupy Wall Street protesters will march to five banks in Manhattan on Friday and deliver thousands of letters to the companies — in the form of a “mass paper airplane throwing.”

The “marching on the banks” thing, I mean. Not the “covering the sidewalks with litter” thing. They marched on the banks already, didn’t they?

Once more into the breach, dear friends? Is that what we’re doing here?

Thousands of letters that were submitted to occupytheboardroom.org will be folded into paper airplanes, and at some of the banks, protesters will execute a “mass paper airplane throwing event,” after which the planes will be collected in a large mailbag and left in the lobbies of the banks.

Okay, I take back the “covering the sidewalks with litter” comment. As long as they pick them all up.

It’s clever, I’ll give them that. And amusing. And different, as far as I know. I’m sure it will convince the banks to see their evil ways.

If I’m not mistaken, it’s the marching on banks/crowding lobbies ploy worked to get lending institutions to lower their lending standards, which led to toxic assets, which led to financial institutions collapsing or being propped up by the government.

But I am not out in the streets because I can remember something before 2008, I guess.
