Gov. Walker: “Unions spent $40 million on six state Senate recall elections in my state. I spent $13 million running for governor.”

December 3, 2011

That quote is from this Dan Bice column, which goes into current recall-campaign spending. The gist: the Forces of Good have already spent millions, but the Forces of Darkness gather, nursing their resources and readying their assault.

Dan Bice probably doesn’t see it quite that way, but, feh. Not to be too critical of Dan. Until the end, his column is pretty much fact-quote-fact-quote.

But then he’s gotta bring up the Koch brothers, and their First Amendment-exercising support of Americans for Prosperity.

Just out of curiosity, do we have any info about where the “Greater Wisconsin Committee” and “United Wisconsin” – the two liberal, anti-Walker organizations also mentioned in Bice’s column – get their money?

If it’s available, surely Bice has access to it. If not, gee whiz, why not? Why do we know more about where these conservative groups get their money than where the liberal groups do?

One more thing: I reiterate my support for the First Amendment, and the rights of people to support their beliefs through check-writing. Even very wealthy people, like Peter Buttenweiser, Steve Bing, and Haim Saban.

The political facto meter says that is a complete lie. They are the journal sentinal a supporter and helped walker get elected. The unions spent half that and the GOP spent the other half. Billionaires spent twenty billion protecting there puppets.
