Utah tops in Miss America swimsuit competition

…Miss Utah Danica Olsen earned a $1,000 scholarship after appearing in a Deaville Komplique swimsuit with gold and Swarovski crystal accents. The fitness category is 15 percent of a contestant’s score.

Wow, did you know the Miss America pageant is this Sunday? I won’t be watching, but I will be keeping half an eye on the internet for pictures after.

Oh, and by the way:

Miss Wisconsin Laura Kaeppeler is taking home a $2,000 scholarship for her performance of “Il Bacio” during the Tuesday night preliminary. The talent portion is 35 percent of a contestant’s preliminary score.

That’s only Night One’s talent prelim – there were three nights, with three different batches of contestants, so Miss Wisconsin is one of three first-place finishers in that category. Hey, it’s better than second place. Second place sucks.
