Boy, there’s a lot of serious blogging going on at blogs not called TrogloPundit today
All kinds of good, serious blogging about real, serious issues out there today.
- Marathon Pundit has first-hand reporting of Christian ministers advocating theft, plus an upcoming milestone for the Occupy “movement.”
- Dan Riehl (who blogs like he’s growling at you through clenched teeth) has leapt headlong from the Perry bandwagon (vaulting over me running alongside it) and somersaulted into a perfect landing through the Gingrich-mobile’s sunroof.
- Stacy and Smitty of The Other McCain are doing their usual blanket coverage of the GOP primary and philosophical cage fighting over Constitutional first principles.
Tell you what, man, it’s exhausting reading all that stuff.
The Trog, meanwhile, is distracted by the premiere of “Underworld: Awakenings” and the ongoing comparison of the “Underworld” franchise to the “Resident Evil” franchise, which released installment #5’s trailer this week.
For those of you who haven’t been paying attention, “Resident Evil” is about a woman in a skin-tight outfit who likes to shoot things. And “Underworld” is about a woman in a skin-tight outfit who … likes to shoot things.
Oh, zombie poop. “Underworld” takes itself way too seriously. “Resident Evil” doesn’t, and, plus: Ali Larter. And, plus, Milla Jovovich, who was also in The “Fifth Element” and “Ultraviolet.”
Yeah, okay, “Ultraviolet” was one crappy movie, but still. Nerd cred. What’s Beckinsale got besides the whole overdone vampires vs. werewolves thing?
Bupkis.
Oh, fine, she was in “Van Helsing” – another crappy movie – and she’s going to be in the “Total Recall” remake. Fine. “Resident Evil” is still more fun.
In other Trog Distraction News today, former MMA fighter Gina Carano’s new film “Haywire” was released yesterday.
Oops, she got a run in her stocking.
I won’t see this movie, more than likely, unless somehow it shows up playing in my house and I didn’t have to pay for it, and there’s no football on. I only mention it in context with those other movies, and because I wonder what it’ll mean for sales of the Gina Carano Action Figure:

Oh, poo, Kate in skin tight outfits rocks, when surrounded by werewolves and vampires. Psyched to see the new one Monday or Tuesday.
Of course, without the skintight outfits, vampires, and werewolves, would we want to see her movies? Other than the Underworlds and Van Helsing, her movies are massive crap. Especially Whiteout.
Milla Jovavovavich was also in Kuffs.
